Multi Tiered Systems of Support

MTSS Support

Once called RTI, MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) is a system that supports students; academics, but also social and emotional learning.  MTSS is the practice of matching quality intervention and instruction to the specific needs of students.  Response to Intervention begins with our high quality core programming.  Student needs are met through differentiated small group instruction and one-to-one support provided by the classroom teacher.  Supplemental interventions are provided with increasing levels of intensity depending on the targeted needs of each student.  A universal screening tool is used to assess children three times a year.  Children receive different levels of support based on the results of the assessment.  Children who show a need for more intense interventions are strategically monitored more frequently throughout the year to ensure strong growth outcomes.
